Hydraulic winch is usually designed with a large rated load, suitable for the most demanding tasks on land and water. This heavy-duty winch is usually used on ships, shores and docks to perform many different tasks. The winch is powered by the hydraulic system, so it can transmit a powerful force to handle a large amount of work. When selecting winches for marine applications, energy efficiency is very important. Due to the size of hydraulic system and equipment, hydraulic winches are the best choice for large ships.
Features of Hydraulic Winches
Large capacity – the heavy duty hydraulic winch has large carrying capacity. It is a better choice for lifting or pulling extremely heavy loads.
High performance – compared with electric winches, hydraulic winches will not overheat due to long-term use.
High strength – hydraulic winches are designed for the most difficult tasks.
Reliability and durability – hydraulic winches can work perfectly in the harshest environments. It can run for a long time. Functions such as automatic brake, emergency stop button, drum lock system, pawl brake and over-travel prevention system will provide maximum protection.
Working Principle of Hydraulic Winch Machine
The hydraulic transmission uses oil as the working medium, transmits movement through the change of the seal volume, and transmits power through the pressure inside the oil.
- Power part: it converts the mechanical energy of the prime mover into the pressure energy of the oil (hydraulic energy). For example: hydraulic pump.
- Execution part: it convert the oil pressure energy input by the hydraulic pump into mechanical energy that drives the working mechanism. For example: hydraulic cylindersand hydraulic motors.
- Control part: it is used to control and adjust the pressure, flow and flow direction of the oil. For example: pressure control valve, flow control valve and direction control valve.
- Auxiliary part: it connects the above three parts together to form a system, which plays the role of oil storage, filtration, measurement and sealing. For example: pipelines and joints, fuel tanks, filters, accumulators, seals and control instruments, etc.
The pressure applied at any point on a certain volume of liquid can be equally transmitted in all directions, which means that when multiple hydraulic cylinders are used, each hydraulic cylinder will pull or push at its own speed, and these speeds depend on the pressure required to move the load.
In the case of the same carrying capacity range of the hydraulic cylinders, the hydraulic cylinder carrying the smallest load will move first, and the hydraulic cylinder carrying the largest load will move last.
In order to make the hydraulic cylinder move synchronously so that the load can be lifted at the same speed at any point, it is necessary to use control valves or synchronous lifting system components in the system.
Structure of Hydraulic Power Winch
The hydraulic winch is mainly composed of hydraulic motor (low speed or high speed motor),hydraulic normally closed multi-disc brake, planetary gear box, clutch (optional), drum, support shaft, frame, etc. The hydraulic motor has high mechanical efficiency, large starting torque, and can be equipped with different distributors according to the requirements of the working conditions, and the valve group can also be directly integrated into the motor oil distributor according to the needs. The brake and planetary gearbox are installed in the drum. The drum, support shaft and frame are designed according to the mechanical requirements.
The overall structure of the winch is simple and reasonable, and has high strength and rigidity. In terms of performance, the winch equipment has the characteristics of good safety, high efficiency, large starting torque, good stability, low noise, and reliable operation.
