Friction winch is designed with two friction drums along with a wire storage drum behind it. It is ideal for long-distance traction and large-stroke lifting of various large to extra large concrete structures, steel structures and steel cables. The winch has large load capacity, simple operation and reliable performance.

Applications of AQ-JMM Series Electric Friction Winch
Electrically driven friction winch provides constant line speed and stable operation. It is commonly used in road and bridge construction projects, large factories to lift and pull heavy load efficiently and safely. The line speed ranges from 5m/min to 20m/min.
Another common application is to pull large ships ashore or for ship breaking.
This type of winch is a cost-effective option for your lifting and pulling requirements. It requires lower operational cost as compared to a hydraulic winch. Remote control is available as optional for a much safer winching operation.

Customer Cases
This heavy duty electric winch is a great choice for pulling heavy loads. The following are some of our customer cases where the winches are used to pull large ships out of the water.

Advantages of Using Friction Winches
The electric friction winch has a large pulling force, from 10 tons to more than 80 tons. It has two major advantages:
- The rope outlet position of the winch remains unchanged, so there will be no deflection angle of the wire rope, which reduces the wear of the wire rope and increases its service life.
- The pulling force and speed of the rope are constant, so the whole winch machine runs stably and the impact force is small.

The Main Structure of The Friction Winch
The friction winch uses the friction between the wire rope and the drum to generate tension. The main structure includes two friction drums, a rope storage drum and a rope pressing device.

Friction Drum
The friction drum set is equipped equipped with rope grooves to increase the friction between the steel wire rope and the drum. The number of rope grooves is generally 6-10. In addition, it is equipped with a power mechanism.

Rope Storage Drum
The rope storage drum is only used to store steel wire ropes and does not provide pulling force. It is controlled by the drive torque of the frequency conversion motor, which can better maintain synchronization with the friction drum.
Since the rope storage drum is not too far away from the friction drum, a rope spooling device is generally provided.
